In Massachusetts, the accepted offer is followed by a formal contract known as the Purchase and Sale Agreement (P&S). During this stage, attorneys for both parties prepare the full legal agreement outlining the terms of the transaction, including deposits, contingencies, timelines, and closing details.

Once both parties sign the P&S, the agreement becomes legally binding and the transaction moves toward closing.
